We’re hiring a Production brewer
Queer Brewing is a small, independent craft brewery based in East London. Founded in 2019, we began as a collaboration project with raising funds for LGBTQ+ charities and providing visibility and representation for LGBTQ+ folk in and around beer at the core of our mission. Since the start of 2025, we’ve been brewing onsite in Leyton, East London, and are growing fast.
We’re looking for a production brewer to help our Head Brewer keep up with demand as we grow. The right candidate will have some brewing experience, with the aim of slotting in relatively seamlessly into our busy schedule.
As a production brewer, you will be responsible for:
Assisting the head brewer with the production of all Queer Brewing beer, including brewing, cellaring, and packaging;
Brewing: wort production; brewday preparation including grain handling and ingredient preparation; fermenter CIP; monitoring stock; brewery cleaning;
Packaging: leading and assisting packaging beer into kegs, casks, and cans; packaging materials preparation and handling; packaging equipment cleaning and sanitisation;
Cellaring: monitoring fermentation progress via gravity and pH reading; in-tank additions including dry-hopping and process aid additions; trubbing and transferring; carbonation and taking carbonation readings; cleaning and sanitising of fermenters;
Cleaning: performing thorough cleaning and sanitation of all brewing equipment, including CIP procedures; maintaining cleanliness and organisation throughout the brewery, including floors, equipment, and storage areas;
Inventory management: assisting with stock rotation, checking inventory levels, and assisting with ensuring ingredient and packaging material supplies;
Recipe Development: assisting with the creation of new products and refining existing ones.
Equipment maintenance: assisting with basic maintenance and troubleshooting of brewing equipment;
Quality control/assurance: taking part in sensory analysis panels with the wider team; internal tests such as forced diacetyl testing; preparing samples for external laboratory testing;
Representing Queer Brewing at festivals or events.
The ideal candidate will gel well with our small team and understand what we’re about, and will share our values and goals for the company. They will also have the relevant experience, motivation, and drive to XXX. We’re looking for someone who:
Has at least one year’s experience in a brewing role and is ready to take on a brewing role with increased responsibilities;
Ideally has a brewing qualification;
Has experience writing SOPs and anything in between;
Has experience or is comfortable with driving a forklift;
Is comfortable working alone when required;
Is full of ideas for new beers and has a willingness to refine existing recipes alongside the Head Brewer;
Is detail orientated;
Is enthusiastic about constantly refining processes in a new and expanding brewery;
Relishes the opportunity to own tasks and responsibilities and run with them.

Competitive salary of £28-30,000 per annum for 40 hours per week, dependent on experience;
